About Us

Ebooks are the future.

Every time someone said this to me (and usually it was my husband, Hang Time Press founder, Jack Irby) I had one of two reactions: cover my ears to drown out the sound or argue it wasn’t true. Both responses were because I love books. I mean really love books. And for me that meant printed books.

And then one day, I became a convert. I didn’t love printed books any less, I just realized embracing ebooks opened up worlds of possibilities and it didn’t have to be one or the other. It was a watershed moment.

Within 24 hours, Jack and I embarked on this new venture. It was perfect for us: it melds his technology experience and love for all-things electronic with my love of reading, writing and dreaming up new book ideas.

Because we also love food and wine our books will largely focus on those topics. Without the logistical and financial limitations of printing, Hang Time Press will create books sized between traditional cookbooks and magazine-like features, appealing to cooks who want a collection of recipes in an easy-to-navigate digital format.

We will publish the works of established and emerging authors.

Currently, Hang Time Press mini ecookbooks are available on iTunes, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Hang Time Press will begin to release full-length fiction and non-fiction ebooks beginning in spring 2013, including a novel from yours truly.
